One of Turkey's most beloved stars Ajda Pekkan has been at the center of the Turkish musical scene since 1965. A star of both stage and screen, Pekkan's repertoire extends beyond Turkish folk and popular music to embrace styles such as French chanson.
Pekkan got the nickname “Superstar” after her album which was released in 1978. Although famed for her music, Pekkan also started her career as an actress with appearances in almost 50 films. During her music career, Pekkan has recorded songs in nine languages. Her albums were released in Japan, Spain, Greece, Germany, France, Israel and Italy.
Through an illustrious career spanning five decades thusfar, Pekkan has released over 21 albums and 57 singles, represented Turkey at the Eurovision song contest and had a profound impact on popular culture and has received countless honors, and toured internationally.
